Artisan Food UK is a small editorial team with one job: finding the best independent food and drink makers in Britain, and writing about them properly.
Most of what we cover is made in small batches by businesses you won't find in a supermarket - smokehouses, dairies, bakeries, chocolatiers and preserving kitchens across the UK. We go looking for them county by county, checking what's actually in stock rather than working from a press release, and we write up only the ones we'd genuinely point a friend towards.
What we do
Our buying guides shortlist products from independent sellers on Yumbles.com, the artisan food marketplace, organised by what you're after and where you live - a cheese board for a Leeds dinner party, a gluten-free hamper for a Cardiff birthday. Our journal covers the wider world of British food: provenance, regional traditions, seasonality, and the craft and chemistry behind what ends up on the table. Neither is a listicle assembled to fill a page; both are built from a researched brief and edited against a house style before anything goes live.
How we're funded
When you buy through a link on this site, the purchase happens on Yumbles and supports the independent seller directly. We don't run display advertising and we don't accept payment for placement in a guide.
